Anne Truitt is known for her minimalist sculptures. The inspiration for the sculptures derived from an exhibition she saw while visiting the Guggenheim museum in New York, in 1961. Her structures were often large and overtly plain. Her most recognized work was completed in the 1960’s. Her work precedes the work of other minimalists like Donald Judd.
